Long Range Forecast: 'Kung Fu Panda 2' and 'The Hangover Part II'

kfp2forecast.pngWe've added two new films to our Long Range Forecast this week: Kung Fu Panda 2 and The Hangover 2. Both sequels are set to open on May 26.

2011's Memorial Day Weekend frame is bound to be a huge improvement 2010, which saw underwhelming debuts by Sex and the City 2 and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It's safe to say that theater owners will see twice the amount of activity this year.

We're giving the edge to Kung Fu Panda 2, but don't rule out a Hangover upset. If Kung Fu Panda 2 was simply a 2D release then the playing field would be more even. Check out our predictions in the table below.
