This January, Liam Neeson suits up as Bryan Mills for another installment in the wildly-popular Taken franchise. Will fans line up again or will some franchise fatigue set in? BoxOffice takes a closer look at the Universal release's commercial potential.

Taken 3
(Fox)

PROS:

- Taken 2
earned a massive $378.2 million worldwide, $139.9 million of which came from North America. The franchise clearly has a large fan base.
- Taken 3 will face no new competitors during its debut frame.
-
An action film will play as strong counterprogramming following the end of the year rush of family-friendly titles.

CONS:

- Franchise fatigue is inevitable and we're betting it will set in with this film.
- The weekend of January 16 will see the wide expansion of American Sniper starring Bradley Cooper and the release of Blackhat starring Chris Hemsworth. Both of those male-driven films are likely to seriously hurt Taken 3's staying power.

Check out our predictions for this film and others in the table below.
